This is a very difficult post for me, but I need to pay tribute to my father.

Dad was a wonderful father, husband, surgeon, friend and mentor to many people. He touched so many lives in so many ways. Over the past five days I have heard so many positive things about him it is hard to believe, but I know what he was like and they were all true. I never heard Dad say an unkind word to anyone, it is just as easy to say something nice as something mean. He was a man of his word and always fulfilled on his promises. I will miss him dearly as will all of my sisters, Bev, and his sisters and brother. Dad passed away peacefully on Friday morning in Saint John, New Brunswick and is laid to rest at St. Luke's cemetary in Gondola Point, NB

Dad…this one's for you.
The West Pictou Junior Boys basketball team played Highland's school team tonight and defeated them 43 to 37. It was a good close game and all the boys played well. It was Peter’s and my first win as coaches. Devon was awesome as he scored 23 points and was excellent on defense. Brady O’Brien and J. D. Livingston were the other scorers for West Pictou. We play again this Thursday at West Pictou against East Pictou at 7:30pm.
Today Nadine and I went to town to do a little Christmas shopping, buy a tree, and to have a look at a few cars for her since her lease is up this month. Well we did get the shopping done and did buy a tree, and we even got to the Honda dealship. While we were there looking at used cars we noticed the New 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid. Nadine wanted to have a quick look at the numbers on this car...just to see. Well three hours later she drove off the lot with her brand new Civic Hybrid. The hybrid works on half electric, half gas engine. The gas mileage is incredible. One local owner drove 1,100 kilometers for only $25 in gas. Totally awesome! The new 2006 civics have a new design and look great. See for yourself.

December 10, 2005 must be the latest date for a big storm around here. Fortunately it occurred on a weekend so school was not cancelled :>) We got about 7” of the white stuff overnight and had to dig out the car this morning because Devon had to deliver his papers before 9:00 am. The roads are slowly getting plowed and we will clear out our driveway this morning. Maybe we will have a white Christmas.

This is Nadine's new car.

After 14 hours of travel time and 2 hours of driving in lousy weather, Colin arrived in Durham. Nadine picked him up at the airport last night and drove home in a major snowstorm. Colin and Sarah were met at the door by Peter, Devon and I at 12:20 am. and we stayed up and chatted until after 2. The two of them decided not to drive to Halifax today because of the snow covered roads and hazardous driving conditions. It is so nice to have him home.
